Sketchbook : Girls

These are just a few drawings I've done in the last few months.

late June

I couldn't decide if I liked her with or without eyes. I drew them in anyway just because I was so excited to tackle those lashes. At first I didn't like it, but it's growing on me.

Closet Inventory : Completed

The project I started this summer if finally over. As much as I hate to stop, I need to for my own sanity. I got into this thing where I tried to recreate it as best as possible. So you'll spot some Mishka (sweater/dress), Betsey Johnson (tights/dresses/cardigan), Marc Jacobs (shoes), Uniqlo (dress), and Zara (everything). I have a problem with getting overly detailed...

October

November

December

Here are a few highlight outfits I got a little too pattern happy, or just generally liked wearing.

F21 blouse, PegLeg skirt, Sam Edelman shoes

F21 flannel, Rebel 8 shirt, KillCity jeans, Vans slip-ons

Sister's old thrifted sweater, F21 dress, Zara boots

Kimchi Blue hoodie, Free People dress, Gap tights, thrifted boots

Pins and Needles blouse, Silence & Noise trousers, Ann Demeulemeester wedge sandals

PS- I may post a single outfit periodically in the future if I really love it. There's no denying that I'll be creating new outfits later on.

Pattern Making : Hair/Girls

I took a break from vectoring to play around with some drawing. Starting with some post-it notes (which I love dearly) and my favorite Japanese brush pen.

I was on the fence about adding in girls, but then I figured there had to be a source for all that hair. Here's the result after playing around in photoshop:

Perhaps I was a bit ambitious by starting with something so intricate. Next one will be a little more simple. Until then...

Teaser : Lola

Sometime around Christmas I completed a little layout job my friend/photographer, Hadar, approached me about in November. Things got a little busy, and although I wish I would've had a quicker turn around on this, I'm pleased with the results. It certainly would've been different had I gone down the initial path of ideas I had conceived.

Archive : Noonis aka toys

Meet the Noonis. I don't know why I never posted these, but I found them today in a box while searching for something else. I made them last fall out of found wood, model kit parts, and building blocks. The vector image below was the final color study that I threw together before painting the mash-up of parts I wood-glued up.

I wish I could remember all their names... (worst memory in the world here)

The purple guy in the study wasn't finished due to time constraints.

Closet Inventory : August 2010

I think it's safe to say I need a life.

Either way, I'm slowly catching up on these illustrations. In other news, there's a possibility that I might be leaving Texas, or maybe Austin still has some more surprises for me... Details to come in the near future.
